Dog Grooming Clippers: Five Of The Common Mistakes Made By Dog Owners When Grooming Their Furry Friends

Within this article, we are going to discuss dog grooming clippers and the five common mistakes that each dog owners makes when grooming all of their furry friends.

Electric Clipper Burn: An electric clipper burn appears as a rash, and it results from using clipper blades that are overheated or either damaged blades. Before each use, you should inspect your dog grooming clippers and replace all of the dull or missing blades and all of the blades that have broken teeth. In the event that you dog has been affected, he or she is going to attempt to lick and scratch the areas, which is only going to worsen all of the irritation.

This is the main reason why it is a very good idea to keep the Elizabethan collar handy for all of the problems of this nature because they prevent the canine from being able to reach all of the irritated areas. You should also make sure that you keep the entire area clean and you are going to need to use some type of antibiotic ointment on the dog's skin until it is able to heal.

Cutting Nails and Clipping the Quick: Even though your dog may want you to finish very quickly, you shouldn't be in a hurry to finish up all of his nails. You should take little baby clips by using the sharp nail clipper. You should use a Dremel or any other type of motorized/electronic tool unless you have undergone some training in doing so because it is very easy to over cut.

In the event that you dog possess white nails, you are going to notice that the quick is going to appear to be pink. You should stop clipping the nail before you ever get to this point. On the other hand, in the event that your canine has dark nail, you are going to notice a black circle within the part of the nail that has been clipped, you are going to need to stop before you reach that point.

Among the other mistakes that dog owners make when grooming their furry friends is encouraging allergic reactions unintentionally, leaving the dog unattended or unrestrained, and getting a little shampoo within the dog's eye during bathing time. Don't worry; no one is going to get it right the first time unless they have had the proper training.

However, you are going to need to make sure that you are extremely carefully with the dog grooming clippers; you don't want to mess up your dog's coat. You may even want to consider asking your dog groomer what dog grooming clippers she or he would recommend.
